I agree with you. However, there is a difference between “focusing on” the negative emotions and simply allowing space for them to be seen and felt. We would not have a framework for seeing the positive in every situation if we were not able to see the entirety of the situation itself (which includes the darkness). It’s about allowing, not grasping, the duality of emotions and of life.
